Blepharoplasty Eyelid Surgery
Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is a procedure that corrects drooping of the delicate skin around the eyes. Blepharoplasty procedures are used to treat drooping upper eyelids and bags under the eyes by removing excess skin and fat, effectively “lifting” the eye area, and in some cases, improving vision which has been impaired by drooping eyelids. Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure and may take place with either general anesthesia or local anesthesia and a sedative. This procedure generally takes between 1-3 hours to complete, resulting in a lasting rejuvenated and youthful appearance. Your CFI blepharoplasty surgeon will consult with you to discuss your options and determine a treatment approach that is best for your individual situation. |

In performing the blepharoplasty surgery, the surgeon will excise skin and subcutaneous fat that causes bags and drooping around the eyes. Scars are hidden within the natural folds of the eyelid. Blepharoplasty requires approximately 1 week of recovery time before normal daily activities can be resumed. Because blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure, it is important that patients be in good health and free of any infections prior to undergoing this procedure. Ideal candidates for blepharoplasty include healthy men and women who are looking to reduce the appearance of drooping and puffiness around the eyes for either aesthetic or ophthalmological reasons (i.e. to improve their vision).
Blepharoplasty may be combined with other non-surgical procedures, including injectables, peels, or other surgical procedures such as browlifts to fully achieve desired results. Please schedule a consultation to discuss your options and whether blepharoplasty is the right treatment for you.
